Charlies memories of Rose

Created by Laura one year ago

Rose and Charlie, it all started at Nursery… We would arrive each morning to Rose and Lucy stood inline waiting, lunch boxes in hand. Sam would say, Rose would go all silly and start swinging her lunch box as soon as Charlie arrived. Rose would often tell Charlie that he was her partner for the day and should sit next to her at lunch. Charlie was happy to do as he was told as he loved playing with Rose.

I will always remember her skinny jeans and the cutest converse trainers with perfectly placed freckles and a giant smile.

Charlie recalls Rose’s favourite game was playing Mums and Dads with him. They even pretended to get married when they was at their beloved Childminder ‘Sues’.

Collecting Charlie after school he said “Mum I got married to Rose today!” I asked who did the service and he explained Libby married them in the playroom.

Charlie also remembers every school class photo he was stood next to or near Rose and Elsie.  He dreamed of being as tall as the boys. He would start off at the back and be moved only to find Rose giving him a look to say, you know you should be in the front with me.

Their friendship continued as they were so fond of each other. Even after we moved away to Somerset, they would reach out every now and again and catch up. Rose sent him a picture of their Year 4 class photo just a few months ago and let him know about her travels.

She will be remembered forever, we’re grateful to have known her and to have had so many fun memories that will last forever.

Charlie said “I’m going to live my life and go for everything just like Rose did!”

RIP beautiful Rose.
